CRS / TAX RESIDENCY

Amended CRS: timing first, then your family records

XinYue Wealth policy perspective · Updated 4 October 2026

What does “2.0” mean?

The term CRS 2.0 commonly refers to the amended standard. IRAS states Singapore’s amended requirements take effect on 1 January 2027, with exchanges expected from 2028. Effective rules, reporting and international exchange are different milestones.

Where should families start?

Our planning approach starts with accounts, identity documents, tax identifiers, addresses and actual residence. Different family members may require different assessments. A consistent factual record gives advisers a clearer starting point than selecting a status product first.

Separate immigration and tax

Passports, passes and tax self-certifications serve different purposes. When circumstances change, check update requirements with the relevant institution and obtain jurisdiction-specific advice on residence, filings and treaties.

How XinYue helps

We connect family priorities, account records and adviser questions, coordinating briefs, handovers and updates. Tax conclusions and filings are confirmed by appropriate professionals.
